Q: do Gothic Defenders drop from anywhere but the Echovald Forest - Guild Wars Forums

aka, is it possible to get an inscribable version?
haven't been able to find any in the trade forum.

If there was an inscribable version it would have made its way to one of the many forums. So it's quite safe to say it does not come with inscription.

This is a list of all shields, that I'm very sure don't come inscribable:

* Gothic Defender
* Ornate Shield
* Echovald Shield
* Bladed Shield
* Amber Aegis
* Outcast Shield
* Plagueborn Shield

EDIT: Of course there is no "real" proof like ANET officially saying they dont drop, but after these 1,5+ years since the introduction of Z-Chest, EotN (and Nightfall) there'd have been one of those for sale if they existed.

I believe there is like 1 or 2 inscripable versions around. As far as I know, and need to believe rumours, those canthan shields dropped from Halls for a week, and then were removed (dont ask me why). There is also a inscr echovald I think. They exist but are just beyond rare. So I wouldn't go looking for one

While I've never seen one myself, I'm tempted to believe the only way to acquire one is through the Zaishen Chest (and perhaps the Hall of Heroes chest), it wouldn't be the first item with a skin that's normally unobtainable with an inscription slot.

I realize there's no direct proof for their existence, but I do not believe there is any evidence that would proof it's impossible to obtain one either.

I just would find it terrible when Anet would make everything inscripable as it would change the market that much that every weapon would be 1k, and some stats combinations wouldn't be possible anymore. So the only person being arrogant is you to judge my opinion.

Agreed with Crucist Ovv. Introducing inscriptions everywhere would piss of many many people. It's good as it is right now.

There's something about death threats and a skewed definition of 'beauty' that threw me off. I have a hard time understanding the so called 'beauty' of uninscribable items.
